Terms of Service

1. Agreement

By using bselr, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, don't use the platform. Simple as that.

We might update these terms occasionally. We'll post changes here and update the date at the top. If you keep using the site after changes, you're agreeing to the new terms.

2. What bselr is (and isn't)

bselr is a platform that connects buyers and sellers. We provide the infrastructure — the website, the listing system, the messaging — but we're not involved in the actual transactions.

We do NOT:

• Own, sell, buy, or possess any items listed
• Guarantee or insure any transaction
• Verify the identity of users (beyond cryptographic identity)
• Inspect, authenticate, or verify items
• Handle payments, shipping, or delivery
• Arbitrate disputes between users

3. Your account

To post listings or message people, you need an account. When you create one:

• Use accurate information (don't make stuff up)
• Keep your secret words secure (we can't recover them for you)
• You're responsible for everything done through your account
• Tell us if you think someone else is using your account
• One identity per person (no sock puppets)

4. What you can't list

Don't list:

• Drugs or controlled substances (legal or not)
• Weapons, firearms, ammunition, explosives
• Stolen property
• Counterfeit or fake goods
• Adult/escort services
• Fake IDs, forged documents, diplomas
• Hacking tools, exploit kits, malware
• Stolen accounts, credentials, personal data
• Endangered species or illegal wildlife products
• Anything illegal in your jurisdiction

5. What you can't do

• Post fake or misleading listings
• Spam (posting the same thing repeatedly, unsolicited messages)
• Phishing or scamming
• Try to circumvent moderation or bans
• Harass, threaten, or abuse other users
• Scrape, crawl, or mine data from the platform
• Try to break the site or interfere with its operation
• Use bots or automated tools without permission
• Impersonate other people or organisations

6. Your listings

When you post a listing, you're saying:

• You have the right to sell the item
• The description is accurate and not misleading
• The photos show the actual item
• You'll honour the price you listed (unless you clearly said it's negotiable)

You keep ownership of your content (photos, descriptions). But by posting, you give us permission to display it on the platform, in search results, etc.

7. Moderation

We use a combination of automated systems and human review to moderate content. See the Trust & Safety page for exactly how it works.

We reserve the right to:

• Remove any listing for any reason
• Suspend or ban accounts
• Report illegal activity to law enforcement
• Cooperate with legal investigations

8. Transactions

We don't control and can't guarantee:

• Quality or condition of items
• Safety or legality of items
• Whether items match their descriptions
• Whether sellers will deliver or buyers will pay
• Whether anyone will show up to a meeting

Use common sense. Meet in public places. Inspect items before paying. See our safety tips.

9. No warranties

Translation: We try our best, but we can't promise the site will work perfectly 100% of the time.

10. Limitation of liability

Translation: If something goes wrong, we're not on the hook for unlimited damages. This is standard for online platforms.

11. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold harmless bselr from any claims, damages, or expenses arising from:

• Your use of the platform
• Your listings or transactions
• Your violation of these terms
• Your violation of anyone else's rights

Translation: If you do something wrong and we get sued for it, you're responsible.

12. Termination

We can suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, with or without notice. Reasons might include:

• Violating these terms
• Repeated reports from other users
• Fraudulent or illegal activity
• Being a jerk to other users

You can stop using the platform anytime.

13. Governing law

These terms are governed by Australian law. Any disputes will be resolved in Australian courts.

14. Other stuff

• If any part of these terms is found invalid, the rest still applies.
• Our failure to enforce a term doesn't mean we've waived it.
• You can't transfer your account or these rights to anyone else.
• These terms are the entire agreement between us regarding the platform.
